Dear future colleagues ... two quick but important tech announcements

1) If you will be seeking home or remote Internet access this summer so that 
you can work on mapping from your home or personal location of choice, I 
am going to be setting up several systems for you via Earthlink with 
instructions ... please send me a quick e-mail using whatever e-mail you will 
be checking regularly this summer ... my e-mail is now
stevebergen AT thechidrensstorefront.org and my cell phone is 781-953-9699 
... please hold onto both so that I can see to it that you are set up properly 
this summer with this access ... the plan is for you to have a two hour slot per 
day when you can use this shared Earthlink Internet access account

2) I run a series of 5 day professional development computer workshops in 
the summer for K-12 teachers called Summercore. We have one at Horace 
Mann School in Riverdale the week of July 9-13 in case you are interested.

this 5 day workshop which is free to all Storefront colleagues. If you want 
more info, please send me a quick e-mail or call me any evening at 
781-953-9699. This workshop addresses both computer skills and 
curriculum integration themes. It works for both beginners and highly skilled 
users.

basically, from any Mac or any PC you plug a phone cord into the modem and then create a settings file for that Mac or PC on the desktop that gets you on the Web via the voicephone cord whenever you click

each of the 3 of you can choose any two hour time slot that will be yours
basically Earthlink charges us MORE if two people are on at the same time

reminder that if anyone in your house picks up the voicephone while you are online, you might be disconnected

also, if you have call waiting and someone calls, you can be disconnected

I will be away from NYC from Friday June 15 to July 1, so I can help you
