The Children's Storefront:
Head of School Search

this page last updated: 11/24/09

The Search Committee, formed by The Children's Storefront's Board of Trustees, and Freeman Philanthropic Services, LLC ("FPS"), the retained search firm working with the Search Committee, are actively recruiting the next Head of School for the Storefront. Based on the position profile and FPS's discussions with the Storefront's constituency groups, FPS has launched their public outreach (including advertising placements and targeted contacts) to identify, recruit and evaluate potential candidates. FPS's candidate development and evaluation process includes resume review, telephone screening interviews, face-to-face interviews and reference checks. As FPS continues to develop candidates, they will provide regular updates to the Search Committee.

Concurrent with their recruitment efforts, FPS worked with the Search Committee to organize a series of focus group meetings with internal and external constituency groups (including faculty, staff, parents, trustees and key donors). The focus group process will culminate in a comprehensive "Storefront town hall meeting," which will include volunteers from the constituency groups. The Storefront town hall meeting took place on Thursday, November 12 at 6pm in the common room at The Children's Storefront on 129th street.
