I have listened to all your lovely voices and I must say how great your enthusiasm is! Your addition tables were wonderful. So were your pictures. Like the one that said you love us, and the one that had all the addition tables. All were great to look at -- I'm sure glad I'm not in school anymore. Especially when I read all the rules that Mr. Bergen has given you regarding using the laptops.

There's too much to learn these days! This old brain won't retain all that knowledge that you kids have to learn at your young ages. My fingers don't work too well anymore so I use the software called NaturallySpeaking so I can speak and the computer does the typing for me. Makes it so I can can do this with you kids. Technology today has gotten oh so BIG I can't even try to wrap my tired brain around it! I was truly amazed to find out that my Mother, who is 90, even has her own cellphone! I can't even open one! You kids are very lucky to have Mr. Bergen as your teacher.

Today it's Monday, Columbus Day, so I know you kids have the day off. Come to think of it, so does Mr. Bergen. What do you kids do with your families over the weekends? Anything special on the three-day weekends? I was from a large family of six. Four girls and two boys. My Dad and Mom both worked -- Dad all of the time, Mom worked part-time once we were a bit older. I was the oldest, so when my Mom worked, I was sort of left in charge. Both good and and bad came with that.

Colleen Powers is still recovering in Carney Hospital. Maybe you and Mr. Bergen can make a project and send her a get well card. I'm sure she would be absolutely thrilled to receive one from all of you. Just a small suggestion.

I found a wonderful site for you kids to go into each day and give a click so sponsors can help feed animals at the Animal Rescue League. Each time you do, the sponsors will donate to help. You can also send E-cards for free, and buy things if you have the money to do it.

Now I think my letter to you is done. Hope you all have a great school year. I look forward to hearing from you. Happy days to all! Best wishes, Dianne
