What do we mean by an IP Number?
Every important server or network printer has a unique IP number somewhat like each of us has
a unique social security number.
How to Print to one of our HP printers such as the Computer Lab
go to printer setup utility which might be in the dock
choose ADD PRINTER under the PRINTER MENU ...
you will see something like this (every computer a slightly different look)
enter the IP number of the desired printer in the ADDRESS field
change the PROTOCOL to be SOCKET HP
choose the model for HP to be the type you are seeking (either HP LaserJet 2100 for the black and white one in the computer
lab or HP Color LaserJet 2600n)
it should now look like this
For the other printers, we need to get the drivers!
(if your Mac is over 10.4.4 then some of these may be included)
