Just a few things to know about setting up the Xerox scanning capability
Print the configuration repot and make sure that the scanning capability is enabled.
On a computer (PC or Mac) type in the web address for the Xerox machine that you are working on to be able to change the settings (i.e 192.168.1.31 or 192.168.1.32 a/o 4/14/08; the Development printer does not yet have this feature enabled; a service call has been logged to do so).
In the top right corner of this page, click on "index."
Next click on "SMTP Settings;" you should find information requested specific to the e-mail server (FirstClass a/o 5/14/08 192.168.1.41; the port for this is "25" not "510" as it usually is when it involves the usage of FC's address). A valid e-mail address is needed to send e-mails from; the log in information for that e-mail account is NOT REQUIRED. A valid host name is required (storefrontschool.org a/o 5/14/08)
Next click on "index" again. This time choose "e-mail settings." Make sure that the e-mail address that you want to send these e-mails from is consistent with the one in the "SMTP Settings" tab.
Once all of these changes have been applied, perform a software reset directly from the Xerox machine. You can also do this in the web interface by clicking on "Status" and then on "Reboot Machine"
Aftet the machine reboots, the settings should be ready for scanning.
Note: For all changes, the screen name is the first 5 letters of your function as CIO for all systems... Hint: it starts with an "A." The password is only the numbers included in the sunsequent Code: SB4663VC.
