When we began planning for Tech Saturdays in Harlem -- back in Fall 2007 -- it was a dream and a plan. We were excited about the idea but unsure of how the implementation was going to happen. About 10 individuals came together to help and numerous Independent Schools in the NYC area and beyond contributed hardware. Without the voluntary support of these individuals and organizations. As we have gotten increased recognition, more support has come in, most recently from the Renaissance Learning Company which makes Alphasmarts.

Renaissance Learning (Jan Mills, Director of Sales) supports TechSaturdays as part of the purchase of 40 NEO2 Alphasmarts for our Lower School students ... this generous grant allows us to expand Tech Saturdays to be grades 1-3 this coming Fall ... Renaissance Learning makes both the NEO2 keyboard and of course Accelerated Reading -- two technological innovations that are very important to us here at The Children's Storefront.
